I needed something to hook up some old PC speakers to my PS3. The PC speakers had to normal speakers and a subwoofer. This item works great. Connected in less than a minute and has worked flawlessly for months now.

Rating: - Does what it is supposed to do
Of course this doesn't give you true 5.1. You need to be sending it a 5.1 signal to get true 5.1 surround sound. You pass in a stereo signal over RCA. That's all you can pass in. It is a passive connector. Meaning it doesn't actually change the signal. The only way you can even come close to 5.1 is if you had your stereo signal hooked up to something that did Dolby ProLogic II and that only simulates 5.1. It isn't true 5.1 sound either.

This amazing little coupler allowed me to take my Logitech X-540 5.1 speaker sytem, generally used for video games and computers, and turn it into a complete surround sound system for my TV.
