I bought this drive as a backup to my fixed hard drive. Works great. Easy plug and play. It slips right into the built in bay of my HP desktop. But it's also portable and can connect via USB (cables included) so I can take it with me wherever I go. No software needed to install it. Just plug it in, and the computer recognizes it. BTW...I'm running Vista 64 if that makes any difference to anyone out there.

This is my second hard drive. I already had another HP 300Gb and got this because they work good on y computer.

This product is over priced, but there are no alternatives if you want to mount the drive in the built in bay of some HP desktops. If you don't mind using a USB cable and a power cord, there are any number of cheaper alternatives available. Warranty is also shorter than other similar products.

The drive was easy to connect, and worked well at first. When left conneted to the computer, it overheats and makes a noise. I am forced to only use it for a short period at a time, so that it will not overheat.
If used only to ferry information from one computer to another, it probably would be a good product.

If you have a HP computer that this device works in, it's a great way to get a back-up drive that doesn't take up space outside the computer.
