Editorial Review:Product Description:Your computer is the center of your digital life. Your TV is the center of your entertainment life. But what if you want to watch movies, TV shows, movie trailers, podcasts, and photos from your computer on your TV? Apple TV brings iTunes to the big screen.Say you've just downloaded Cars from iTunes. Instead of huddling around your computer to watch, you pop some popcorn while your computer wirelessly syncs your new flick to Apple TV. Then you pull up a seat, put up your feet, and pick up the included Apple Remote to play your movie on TV. Give yourself a hand: you've just changed the way you watch digital media.Apple TV connects to your TV via an HDMI port or component video and audio ports. Its built-in, superfast 802.11 wireless capability syncs your iTunes library to any Mac or PC in the house. Best of all, what's on Apple TV stays in sync: anytime you change your library in iTunes, it changes on Apple TV - wirelessly, automatically.Apple TV puts your iTunes library - movies, TV shows, music, and podcasts - plus movie trailers from Apple.com on your TV. And your digital photos from iPhoto on a Mac or Adobe Photoshop Elements or Adobe Album on a Windows PC appear in high definition, so you can put on a stunning big-screen slideshow.

I tried out this unit in my (mostly mac except for my wife's winbox) home so I would be comfortable showing my teachers how it could be used in the classroom and in our new, fairly hi-tech classroom building. I liked it so much that I bought a new one for the school to replace the ATV in my family room that I will not give up. Apple TV is a fantastic product and I have to give it 5 stars! The device is different than anything mainstream on the market that I have come across - different from dvd, different from blu-ray, tivo, dishtv/direct tv, etc.
First the disclaimer on this review: I am an apple fan and have owned an apple computer for the last 4 years so this is coming from an apple user/network point of view. I can't comment on how well this works with itunes on a PC / PC network. You have to have a widescreen ...

I purchased this because over a third of the space on my macbook is being taken up by tv shows and movies in itunes. I thought it would be great to be able to transfer all of that media to the Apple TV and free up space on my laptop. Well guess what...that is NOT how Apple TV works. Apple TV is just an overpriced, glorified receiver for your television. It is not intended to be, and can NOT be used as external storage for your media. If you are running out of space on your computer from media overload, this ...

THe Apple TV is fine for a basic download and play function but not intuitive or user friendly if one wants to go beyond the basic function, onto, for example, syncing with iTunes Library. The worse aspect is that there is no users guide and if a few months down the line from purchase one decides to use the additional features there is NO support NOR information anywhere online as to how to use these additional product functions. Unless you are willing to PAY $50 dollars for support!!! THe ATV does NOT work the ...
