I bought this scanner to use for a biographical and history project. I wanted to make archival quality scans of photos and documents with historical significance. It has been easy to use and reliable.

I purchase this mainly to scan negatives. I did a lot of research on this scanner prior to purchasing. One problem I've had so far is a conflict between my other Epson all-n-one. (I have never had any real problems w/Epson products) However, after contacting tech support the problem was solved very quickly. I just puchased this scanner and over the New Year's holiday, while watching bowl games, scanned over 700 negatives into computer. The LED lighting is what makes this a relatively fast consumer-grade scanner. The learning curve is fast and this offers many features that are very impressive. As for color negatives, there is no settings for type or nature of the film and it scans them as well as any other machine that I have used. Quick and simple to use as a film scanner as well as a PDF scanner and other functions. The only limit is that it scans only 35mm or 120 film sizes.

Plugged in easily and worked - at least under XP.
I've used it to scan both prints (color and B&W) and slides. It could be faster but possibly not for this good price.
Included PS Elements has worked well. The autofix feature does a good job most of the time.
