Rating: - Great Chip!
Awesome chip, especially if you upgrade from a P4 @ 3Ghz. This CPU is incredibly fast and not to mention it consumes about 20W less than a P4. However the HSF that comes w/ it is troublesome and I don't recommend it...

Rating: - Great CPU!
I replaced My previous CPU, an Intel E2140 dual core with this one. It basically doubles performance.
You might be interested in some numbers:
Running 2 GB corsair ram and and XFX 8800gt video card I obtained 19000 3dmarks on 3d mark 2001 with the e2140, and 41000 3dmarks with the e8400. This means that the e2140 was a limiting factor for my PC.

Doom3 runs super smooth at high settings.

I just cannot think on a better CPU for daily use and gaming. Very Happy!

Rating: - Works great
Pretty good price, its not a top of the line quad core, but hey, as far as I can tell, my pc runs about the same as my friends, who has a much more expensive quad core. If you want an above average gaming computer for a decent price, look no further. Worked great out of the box and no problems, so I don't see any reason to get anything else. Have yet to overclock it, but heard that works well too.

Rating: - Intel Wolfdale E8400
Pretty good processor, definately uses less power than Pentium 4 Prescotts, but seems to be a bit more finniky when overclocking than people mention online.
